OLDEST VIDEO ON YOUTUBE - 1894 BOXING CATS

Would anyone be surprised that the oldest video one on Youtube is a cat video? The above was filmed in 1894 by Thomas Edison and purportedly is the oldest one on Youtube.

DIY PRISON CANDY

When you have limited things to work, with you have to be creative and that is apparently what sparked the creation for "candy" make using Kool-Aid, Sugar and Sriracha.

Youtube user Emmy advised it is out of a book called Prison Ramen by character actor Clifton Collins Jr. and includes a collection of stories from famous people who have been behind bars and recipes and the above was one.   I have not read the book but user Aimee on Amazon described it as:

"Chicken Soup for the Soul meets Shawshank Redemption meets Iron Chef with a forward by Samuel L. Jackson"

I haven't gotten the nerve up to try this yet, but the tangy with the sweet with a little bit of heat in the right ratios sounds like it could be very good.

Nope, not kidding, this is an actual product you can buy and wear...if you have a beard that is.

On Amazon, for $10 (plus shipping) you can buy the kit below which consists of  24 bobby pins and jingle bells to deck out even the fullest beards with Christmas cheer.

The fella below, takes it one step further and performs a rendition of "Jingle Bells" with his Jingle Beard.

 Actually, the skeleton is a puppet, but for most of the time you don't see the strings it is a bit realistic, making it both cool and creepy all at the same time.

Jimmy Kimmel's "I Ate All of Your Halloween Candy" Prank from last year.  For a few years he has asked parents to tell tape telling their kids that they ate their candy and send them in.

In some ways it seems a little cruel, but in other ways it is a life lesson as sooner or later in life, someone will literally or figuratively "steal your candy".  Perhaps having a discussion with the child and finding better coping mechanisms for the ones that have the meltdowns can help them later on in life.

The Chris Crocker of Cat Ladies

Hoping this is just her trial run for her E-Harmony video as she comes across as the Chris Crocker of Cat Ladies.   While this video is likely to leave would be suitors tripping over themselves to get to the nearest exit, I would imagine her inbox will be flooded with every animal rights group soliciting a donation instead.

Cats should bring joy, not tears...perhaps some therapy or Prozac are in order.

This flying alarm clock is on sale at Daily Steals today only for $4.99 + shipping (although it is available on other sites also such as Think Geek and Amazon) and it encourages the user, and in the video, a young lad, to get out of bed in the morning because he has to in order to turn off the whirling copter disc and it can finish waking him up by amusing and entertaining him.  

While this sound like a  fun, yet practical and inexpensive Christmas gift for a youngster, it also looks like it has even greater potential - it could be the beginning of the next viral cat video on Youtube.

Civil Engineering with Pancakes

If there were more food demonstrations in science and physics like this one, it would sure make those subject a lot more fun (although I can see myself burning he heck out of my fingertips).

This is by Youtube user jimspancakes and his explanation of how these came about.

"Thought I'd give myself a little challenge today, so I decided to test out the load-bearing qualities of pancake batter. The project was more successful than I had anticipated, minus the minor burns from trying to assemble the structure on a hot griddle.

If you over-cook the pieces, they become pretty stable, almost like balsa wood. The trick is to cook out all the moisture without burning the pancake. Adding liquid batter as 'mortar' works pretty well, it just takes a little while before it will hold anything together. After I assembled the sides to the road-deck, I left the whole thing on the griddle for a few minutes to solidify everything.

Amazing Sand Art/Animation

This is a video of sand artist, 24 year old Kseniya Simonova, winner of the 2009 Ukraine's Got Talent.  It depicts life and loss in the Ukraine during WWII when a quarter of the population perished and her animation brought the audience to tears.

A Creepy Thanksgiving

It it not even Halloween yet, but when you go to the store the aisles are full of Thanksgiving and Christmas items, so why should blogging on the internet be any different?

In this case it is short film starring and written by Ellen Page, the star of "Juno" and few of her friends having her over for dinner entitled "A Crappy Canadian Thanksgiving".

If your friends invite you to dinner and ply you with liquor, then ask you to hold a bunch of carrots, it is time to run when they ask you to put an apple in your mouth!
