Graduation Cap Gift Jar

With graduation just around the corner, here is an almost free clever packaging idea to give a grad - a "graduation cap" jar from a recycled jar, some felt, a button and embroidery thread.

Depending on the size and shape of the jar and the present, such as a Smartphone, an Ipod, gift cards or cash, or print out a picture of a larger item, then tuck it inside a piece of white printer paper rolled up to look like a diploma and tied with ribbon.

Glossy Bands DIY Bracelets

What budding fashionista wouldn't want to make and design her own bracelet, and with Glossy Bands Kit by Klutz she easily can as the little gals in the video demonstrate.  Wouldn't this be a fun craft activity at a tween girl's birthday or slumber party?

Kits are for sale at Glossy Bands Kit by Klutz  for 19.95, but if you sign up for their "Insider" program you can get a code to get 25% off your first purchase.

The upside is that the kit contains enough to make 14 bracelets; the down side is there are only 4 pastel colors.  I would, erh, I am sure there are a lot of girls that would prefer red, black, gold, and white or come up with a Halloween addition with orange, black, red and white and make a fangs and blood sort of look.

Disclaimer:  I have no affiliation with Klutz, nor have I been given or purchased their products - this just sounds cool to me.

Building a Better Mousetrap...Making It Into A Mousetrap Car

Our Mouse Trap Car from Michelle Mitton at Scribbit on Vimeo.

I am not a fan of mousetraps per se as they seem inhumane, but the use of this mousetrap, along with 4 old CDs, 2 pens, 2 bolts, string and 6 balloons to make a mousetrap car is so McGuyerish that it rocks.

Photos from Exfun  I have made a lot of crafts using popsicle sticks, put none as cool at his guitar made out them.

This is from a Russian site, Exfun.   The maker is not credited (too bad because I would love to contact them for more details), but it indicates guitar it took 4000 sticks and 240 hours to make.

CHANEL BAG - THE EARTH DAY EDITION?

While this is just a clever DIY, had it been executed a little more carefully it could have been a contender.
