Free Downloadable Halloween Fonts

Hello and welcome to Countdown to Halloween!

To gear up for Halloween, you might want to take advantage of some of the free downloadable Halloween fonts that are available for use in invitations, newsletters, fliers, signs and crafts.

Fontenstein has "A Castle Full of Free Halloween Fonts" and after checking them out, you will see their castle is humongous.  To the left is an example of just a few that pop up if you click on the letter "G" to check out all the fonts that are named starting with that letter.

Fontspace
has a nice selection of downloadable Halloween fonts, such as "Face Your Fears", "Toxia" and "Zombie Holocaust".

 Zombie Font is a website where you type in what you want to say in Zombie on their site and it will turn your letters into letter zombies and you can save it.



The instructions on how to download vary by source so please be sure to read each sites instructions, but in general,  per the dafont, for all you need to download and unzip, but it then depend on the type of system that you have.

• Windows 7/Vista: Right-click on the font files > "Install"
• Windows XP: Put the font files into C:\Windows\Fonts
• Mac OS X: Double-click the font file > "Install font" button.

Not Quite Right Baby Costumes

Welcome to Countdown to Halloween! Each day I plan on posting a new Halloween themed post to include the unique and unusual, along with craft and recipe themed roundup posts, movie review/roundups and a sundry of other items.

In 2009 I posted Why Dogs Hate Halloween 
and this year I decided to kick off with "Not Quite Right Baby Costumes" that may give you a chuckle but then you find yourself saying, "Wow, that is not quite right" or at minimum, will embarrass the kid when you pull out the albums to show their future dates how cute they were when they were a baby.

FREE HALLOWEEN EVENTS BY RETAILERS

If you have any of the following in your city, they are offering free Halloween activities for Halloween that you might want to check out:

Kids under 12 in costume can have 1 free kids meal with each adult entree purchase at Chili's on 10/31/10.


To find out if the is a Chili's in your area click here.

Chipotle is offering a $2 burrito and you can help raise money for Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution if you dress like a horrifying processed food product after 6 PM on 10/31/10.  Unless you are already dressing in that type of costume, an easy way to do this would be to cut the packaging front and back off of a processed food item and tape them to the front and back of your t-shirt (that is my plan - also gives me an excuse to buy Nutty Bars or Twinkies and a pre-snck).  To find out if there is a location near you click here.

TGI Friday's is offering free Fried Mozzeralla, Potstickers or Crispy Green Beans if you wear a costume today, 10/30 and has a contest at 9pm for a chance at a $100 Gift Card.

Tomorrow kids under 12 in costume eat free with each adult entree purchased.

Coupons for Free Bowling at Brunswick Lane - these are meant to be printed of and given to instead of candy.  Unless the tot is crazy about bowling, don't be surprised if you get a trick if you pass these out; however, they are good from 10/31-11/23/10.

PLUS SIZE BARBIE AND KEN COSTUME

The above costume idea is by Plus Sized Barbie at Cutout and Keep 
where they get boxes from a U-Haul facility and decorate them to look like the boxes that Barbie and Ken dolls come in, then pose in them and carry them around via their hands and cuts in the side of the boxes.

HALLOWEEN AT THE ZOO - 1996

Fort Wayne Children's Zoo has "Halloween At The Zoo" every year from Mid-October until Halloween and it has been a family tradition to check it out.

Each year they decorate the zoo with different themed exhibits using pumpkins each year.  These were from 1996.
