Mama Duck with Her Five Ducklings

It is rare that there are ducks in our neighborhood as we live near a main thoroughfare, but on Thursday there was a mama duck leading around her five adorable duckling next door.

In this one, like so many children, they think they know which direction Mom is going to go and run out ahead of her.

Mom heard a noise and decided going toward the door wasn't a good idea, so headed off to the bushes for protection and the little ones scurried to close to her.

Mom decided it is safe now and they family heads towards the back yard.   Aren't they cute!
