Like the rest of the world, I was shocked to hear Prince passed way yesterday.

He was such a talented singer/songwriter/performer and not only did he carve his own place into music history with his unique style and flair, he also launched the careers of many other, like a few of the above such as Morris Day and the Times, Sinead O'Conner, Sheila E. and Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles, but also wrote hits for established stars like Stevie Nicks (formerly in Fleetwood Mac in the '70's) and Madonna.

He was a true original and cultural icon who will continue to influence musicians long after today.
