Gecko Technology in A Bra

Photo:  Boris Klusmeyer - Reptile Database

When most people think of Geckos these days they are probably thinking of the lovable reptilian mascot with the Austrailian accent for Geico, but what you might not be aware of is this little guy has sticky toe pads capable of supporting the weight of two humans while still allowing it to quickly scurry up walls or across a ceiling.

This same technology is now being used in a strapless bra to keep it in place with "Geck Teck" Pads that uses the same properties as pads on a Gecko's foot to cling to the skin, but can easily be pulled off without any sticky residue.

The bra is by Kellie K. Apparel  and was the brain child of Engineer Dr. Anthony Roy after his wife rejected wearing garment because of her strapless bras worked well.

Here is more on the technology from the Kickstarter Campaign:

I think it would be cool to have a high-tech strapless bra, but alas, they don't have it in my size.

I learned of this garment through a blog a follow Sew Well and she has an interview with one of the designers.

Kellie K Designs currently has two designs available through a Kickstarter campaign that is open for the next few days.  Below is a video.
