Jennifer Paige "Crush"

Here singer/songwriter Jennifer Paige performs "Crush" for some TV show in Germany.   The true test of any singer is live and acoustic and I think she sounds great.

"Crush" is Paige's biggest commercial success to date (although she writes songs, she didn't write "Crush"); it made it to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and topped the charts in six countries in 1998. Blender put "Crush" at 189th place on their list of "500 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born." Source: Wikipedia

I loved this song when it came out in 1998 - it is something we all can relate to as we all have had our "crushes" in life, but it also puts those crushes into perspective.

She is still in the business and her most recent release was November of 2009, which was a duet with Nick Carter called "Beautiful Lies", which you can hear at her official website http://www.jenniferpaige.com.  It is a decent song and grows on you, and it was cool to read the inspirations behind the other songs on the album, but it does seem that most of the music sounds sort of the same.

The thing that sets Lady GaGa apart from every other singer is that she writes catchy pop tunes that don't all sound the same.  I think this gal would do much better collaborating with a country star and take her career in the little bit country direction.   I would love to hear her do a cover of Patsy Cline's "Crazy".  What do you think?
