Turn Grandma's Old Jewelry into Christmas Decoration

If you have inherited Grandma's old jewelry and not into wearing vintage pieces you can celebrate them by turning them into a clever Christmas decoration using an old picture frame, black velvet around an inner cardboard layer and pin or glue the pieces to the velvet.

BOTTLE CHRISTMAS TREES

You would probably need to work in a bar or restaurant to have enough to make one of these lovelies, although a Facebook commenter indicated that her Mother goes through enough wine to have more than enough to make one of these. Guess even if the tree wasn't lit up, you could count on Grandma to be.

While pretty and unique, these would probably not be for any place that had children, animals or clumsy adults and would need to be on a solid foundation as it would be very heavy.

The one above appears to have a specially made rack to hold the bottles upside-down.  

The two below are on several tiers of circular glass decreasing in diameter.

Retro Television turned Liquor Cabinet/Bar

I don't have a liquor cabinet, but love this idea!

This was a post by Derek at Relax Shacks in response to a reader's email who was building at 10' x 15 foot tiny home and wanted suggestions for adding a bar for entertaining.

It would be fairly simple to make once you found an old TV that you want to use, remove the tube, hot glue some fabric inside, maybe add a small glass shelf or two and a touch light and it would be ready to go.

Milk Carton Igloo

What a cool (pun intended) and clever way to create a fun reading space for kids with this reading "igloo" made out of recycled milk jugs

This was found on Flickr posted by Townepost Network and they indicate:

"Cole Renckly and Alex Fullhart enjoy the new reading space in Mrs. Grant’s kindergarten class at Brooks School Elementary. Students have been collecting empty milk jugs to construct an igloo for a “cool” and cozy reading place. Mrs. Grant emphasizes the importance of reusing materials."

'69 VW Bug to Mobile Coffee Shop

With Earth Day being tomorrow, I thought is appropriate to share this cute little '69 VW turned into a cute little traveling coffee shop.

The story of The Coffee Bug on the same type of whiteboard as its menu is the original owner, a fella names Bob, cut the back end off and then transformed it into a traveling camper, then got married and had a few kids and decided it was too small.  Bob then sold it to its current owners, Frank and Laura and they transformed it into The Coffee Bug traveling coffee shop that is towed to festivals by a truck.   The "Bug" says it doesn't miss its engine as it is now powered by caffeine and smiles.

DIY CARDBOARD MILLENNIUM FALCON

When my son was young several times he was more interested in the boxes that contained the presents than the actual presents.  I only wish I had thought of making this clever Star Wars inspired "Millennium Falcon" like the  The Karpiuks did.   Not to mention how adorable little "Has Solo" is. 

Even better, they made a bandolier and "Wookieized" their dog:

Pallet House

"The Palettenpavillon by Matthias Loebermann is a structure made entirely from shipping pallets, ground anchors, and tie rods. Designed to be easily assembled and dismantled, and then entirely recycled at a later date, the resulting building is intended as a temporary meeting place."

While personally it doesn't seem very friendly or inviting; has more a feel of the ship corridors in "Alien" or "Event Horizon", which would make it great for a haunted house or horror movie set.
