DIY Felt Car Playmat House

While I have seen playhouses that fold out, it is rare to find one that is more boy oriented like this adorable garage that unfolds into car playmat.   This cute creations is by an engineer turned domestic scientist at Cook Clean Craft and she included their favorite places on the mat.  

While time consuming to cut out all the shapes, this would make a fun, personalized project for the any youngster that likes to play with 1/64 scale cars.    For more info click here.

Felt Toolbox

I was excited to see the above felt toolbox with a tutorial on how to make your own over at Serving Pink Lemonade which would be perfect for a toddler.

My son's father is a plumber by trade and when my son was very young he wanted a toy toolbox and tools just like his Daddy and I could not find any that were age appropriate for a 2 year old because they all had small plastic parts.  My son is now 16 and uses real tools to work on the car, but I plan on making this and putting in my "Grandma Box" for a future grandchild(ren) in about 10 years or so when he is out of college and hopefully meets the right girl and settles down.

3D Blood Spatter Effect

Over at Esty's How To Tuesdays there is a video showing you how to make your own 3-D Blood spatter prop. This could not only be used as a fun prop to take photos with at Hallween party, but could also be used for a Dexter or CSI themed party.

The items you will need are:
- Red Felt
- Red yarn
- Red Thumb tacks
- A yarn needle
- An object to tie the yarn to, such as a stand up lamp.



If you don't have a yarn needle, you can make just small snips on the edge of the fabric and tie a knot and tie knot, then hot glue all of the knots when you are done to be sure you don't pull any of the strings out when you tie them to the object.
