Oldest Video Footage of New York City
This is a compilation of video of New York City from the turn of the last century with the oldest footage of the compilation is toward the end and dates back to May 11, 1896. Some things are obviously from a different era in time, but others are timeless, like the man's reaction when his hat is blown off his head, people ice skating or the woman fussing with her skirt.
It is posted by and it has naps to the left and indicates on the screen what is being shown. It is around eight and a half and captures a rare piece of history of places and people in a time when video was in its infancy.
