Good evening boys and ghouls and welcome to Day 5 of Countdown to Halloween.

Scary Shadow Scenes - interesting to watch, but not sure I would want to be their neighbor!

HALLOWEEN SWEET TREATS TO MAKE AND EAT

Here is a roundup of sweet treats to make and eat. If you have one you would like to share, I would love to see it! Just post it in the comments section.

Snackpicks has a recipe here on how to make a Haunted House out of Cocoa Krispies, mini marshamallows, candy corn and frosting.















With some sugar, corn syrup, red food coloring you can make some Vampire Blood Lollipops(and 1000's of others - or share your own on Cut Out + Keep)


Use strawberry jam and strategic piping of frosting to make Blood Clot and Brain Cupcakes

If you prefer Jello to cheesecake Mommy's Kitchen has a similar idea but mixing orange Jello and whipped topping and topped with whipped topping boos (similar to a Dreamsicle) with chocolate chips for the eyes.

has instructions on how to make these 
"Wizard Hats" out refrigerated pie crust, chocolate chips, sugar and cinnamon.











If you not too handy in the kitchen or pressed for time you can head over to the dairy case aisle and pick up some ready to bake cookies.  All you have to do is take off the tray, put in a cookie sheet and bake at the temperature and time indicated on the package. Selections vary depending on where you shop, but at Walmart I found the following:

If you are not up for baking but want to decorate Pillsbury has instructions on how to make these cute "black cats" out of a HoHo (or similar rolled up snack cake) black licorice and gum drops, mini M&Ms (or similar) and black decorators icing.
