Jewelry designer, former lawyer and mom Jessica Mindich turns guns from the no questions asked buy back program for the Newark Police Department for guns into couture bangles with 20% of the proceeds going directly back to the buyback program.
The bracelets are hand hammered steel or brass with "Newark" and a serial number of one of the guns that was bought back and no longer on the streets. The bangles range from $150 to $375 and are available for purchase from Caliber Collection. The designers 12 year old son came up with the name and it has the dual meaning of the caliber of guns and the caliber of the city that is taking guns off the street.
