Dagger Nails

Scary nails are not just for Halloween anymore, they are a Spring fashion trend...if you dare!  "Dagger" or "Stiletto" nails as they may be called, are showing up everywhere.

Some resemble pretty but deadly weapons

Lady GaGa and Nicki Minaj sport long golden tapers

While these make a bold statement and look very editorial for fashion shoots celebs like Fergie, Blake Lively, Rihanna and Jessie J are wearing a more modified, demure versions.

Before jumping on the trend bandwagon, keep in mind that some professions, such as healthcare and daycare, may not allow it because it harbors bacteria.

ABC News indicated in an article:
"In a study released at the Infectious Disease Society of America meeting in San Francisco, researchers found that artificial and natural nails longer than 3 millimeters beyond the tip of the finger, or the length of a pencil tip, carry more harmful bacteria and yeast under them than short nails."

From wearing long nails in the past, that may not be the only problem you run across.  Have you ever tried using a credit card machine at a gas station using long nails?   In the past when I had long nails I had to resort to using the knuckles on my index fingers.

and I won't even mention what a challenge this can be.......
