Lady Gaga's "Alejandro" - Is it just us or does it sound like Ace of Base's "I Saw The Sign"?

My 16 year old son that has listen to many of an early CD and Cassette in his lifetime pointed out that this song by Lady GaGa sounded almost identical to something he had heard on my car cassette when he was a tot..

I dug through my tapes and found it sounded eerily similar to what he said it sounded like, which was "Ace of Bases", "I Saw The Sign".
