Peacock Roundup

This roundup in in honor of my son's former fascination with peacocks when he was a tot.                                                                                                                                                                                             When my son was 2 years old he was obsessed with peacocks at our local zoo.  When I asked him what he wanted to be one for Halloween of course, it was a peacock.
I couldn't find any costumes, at least in his small size, and resorted to making the above costume by making a blue hat, painting the front of a gray sweatshirt blue and using nylon netting painted with fabric paint with pipe cleaners threaded down the center and was up until 1 am hand stitching it together and to the sweatshirt for the next day.  As I had to get him in and out of the carseat the design flaw became apparent and had to take it off then put it back on when we got there but as there were other events later on I ended up taking the tail off and adding velcro to the back for easy off and on.

Here is a round up of peacocks and a few of the things their beauty has inspired.
