Madonna's Childhood Home For Sale for $49M

Curbed is reporting the Madonna's childhood 4 bedroom home in Rochester Hills, Michigan where she and her seven sibling grew up is on the market for $49M.

While this might seem like a deal for a die hard Madonna fan to fix up and live in, be warned that the reason the price is so low is that a fire ravaged the home in 2008 and it has been empty since then.  Having lived in a home where there was just a minor fire but a lot of smoke, I can tell you that no matter how much you wash down the walls or floors, repaint, recarpet or retile,  the smell of smoke will even years later as it gets into the structural beams.

From a historical standpoint, it is interesting to see where the self-proclaimed "Material Girl" grew up.  For more pics and the complete story click here, but I couldn't resist posting this picture of
Madge's former throne
