This is a photo that I took of my son at the guitar shop and it was very ordinary, until I used Picnik's free online (they do have where you can upgrade with more options for around $25 a year) editing tool using the Sephia and Vignette options and it gave it a historic, classic look. You could play around by uploading your own photos and check out how they would look, or check out using the demo photos they have at the following website.
